Extracurricular Activities
Windward Nazarene Academy offers a variety of optional extra-curricular activities for grades K-8. Our qualified art staff teach weekly classes in ceramics, drawing, and painting. Each class is specialized to fit the students’ age and interests. Our qualified music staff teach a wide range of fine arts skills, including guitar, piano, drums, and voice. Extra-curricular classes are flexible enough to accommodate busy schedules. For more information, please contact the school office.
Preschool Excursions
Students enjoy educational field trips to various places on the island of Oahu. The Fire Station and the Children’s Discovery Center are always two of their favorite places to go. Some of their other favorite places are Kualoa Ranch, Bishop Museum, Botanical Gardens, Pumpkin Patch, and many others.
K-8 Excursions
Several times each year, students enjoy educational trips to various places on the island of Oahu. The Pumpkin Patch and the Honolulu Theater for Youth are always two of their favorite places to go. Some of their other favorite places are Iolani Palace, Bishop Museum, Pacific Aviation Museum, and many others.
Intramural Sports
We highly recommend organized sports to young children as sports help students improve their athletic skills, physical dexterity, ability to work as a team, and teaches them sportsmanship.
WNA offers a sports program outside the regular school program. This program consists of a basketball league (girls and boys, 4th through 6th grade) and a volleyball league (girls and boys, 4th grade and up).
Interisland Study Tour
The Interisland Study Tour (Maui or Big Island) gives students the opportunity to see and experience the places they have learned about in their studies on Hawaii. This study tour is packed with visits to museums and national parks, as well as many other exciting educational experiences.
Soul'd Out
If you have a child between Kindergarten and 5th grade, Soul’d Out is the place to be!
Every Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. children can participate in a fun, high energy, all around good time . Through worship, Bible stories, crafts, games, and snacks, your child will be taught an important lesson about God and His love for each of us.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., dinner is served for only $4.00 ages 3-12 and $5.00 ages 13+.
